New Delhi: An Indian-origin Sikh is currently touring India to encourage investment in Thailand, with a particular focus on the Indians especially Sikhs to create mutual economic benefits.
Surinder Singh Manchanda who migrated to Thailand in the mid-eighties and set up a business in Thailand said Thailand has immense business opportunities, particularly in the construction sector due to rapid urbanization, growing infrastructure needs, and a rising demand for residential and commercial properties.
Elaborating further, he said that the real estate market is thriving especially in urban centers like Bangkok where the demand for residential buildings is on the rise.
He said that the Punjabi businessmen, along with other entrepreneurs from India, stand to gain significantly by investing in Thailand, particularly in the burgeoning construction sector.
He said that Thailand’s competitive labor costs and skilled workforce provide a strong foundation for profitable ventures.
Known for its vibrant culture, stunning beaches, rich history, and affordable travel options, Thailand is already a popular destination of tourists and attracts millions of visitors from India especially from Punjab annually as it offers a range of experiences that appeal to Punjabi tourists - from leisure vacations to business trips - in cities like Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket.
Thailand has also become an increasingly attractive destination for Indian investments, with strong economic ties between the two countries. India is one of Thailand's major trading partners, and the Thai government actively encourages foreign investment, particularly in sectors like construction, real estate, manufacturing, and technology.
“For Punjabi entrepreneurs with experience in construction and real estate, the demand for new housing, infrastructure, and developments offers avenues for growth besides, the growing Indian diaspora in Thailand also facilitates business expansion,” said Manchanda.
Manchanda also held meetings with individual businessmen and business groups across Punjab, informing them that Thailand offers a favorable investment climate and presents significant opportunities for growth and expansion, particularly in the construction sector.
