Chandigarh: Dr. SPS Oberoi, a Dubai-based prominent businessman, philanthropist, and founder of the Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust (SDBCT), has launched a dedicated ambulance service at Amritsar’s Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport aiming at assisting with the transportation of deceased bodies and sick persons arriving from international destinations.
During a media interaction after handing over an ambulance to the Amritsar unit of SDBCT, Oberoi shared that the Trust has been repatriating bodies of persons who passed away in countries across the Middle East and beyond for many years.
He observed that numerous families in need were unable to arrange an ambulance to bring the bodies of their deceased loved ones back home. This concern led to the decision to offer a free ambulance service for the transportation of deceased bodies and persons who cannot travel by regular vehicles, arriving at Amritsar Airport from any country.
He, however clarified that this service would be available not only to residents of Punjab but also to people from other states.
Dr. Oberoi took the opportunity to advise parents of young people considering sending their children abroad. He advised them to ensure their children receive proper higher education and vocational training and to only send them with the correct documentation and through legal channels.
On this occasion, the Trust's Punjab President Sukhjinder Singh Hair, Media Advisor Ravinder Singh Robin, Consultant, Sukhdeep Sidhu, District President Sishpal Singh Ladi, General Secretary, Manpreet Singh Sandhu, Finance Secretary Navjeet Singh Ghai, Manpreet Singh, and others were also present.
